WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
It's challenging to build muscle & feel energized when your body literally doesn’t have enough fuel nor the right kind of fuel. While you likely are already eating decently “healthy”, or tracking macros, it’s important to understand that someone who has a “fit physique” is implementing different, more advanced tools than someone who is just generically healthy. I know that you want more than the average health & physique, but it's challenging (if not impossible) to take your shape and health to that next level when you're not implementing "next level" factors. Two of those “next level” factors that are going to lead to your success are:
#1: EATING MORE
One of those next level factors is eating enough.
This is the number one reason why I see ladies who are lifting weights and conscious of their nutrition, not having a shape that represents it.
You have been told your whole life to eat less, but 1,200, 1,500, even 1,600 calories isn't enough. When you don't eat enough, it slows your metabolism which makes it difficult to decrease body fat and you also don't have enough nutrients to build muscle. A lack of nutrients will also decrease energy levels and limits food flexibility. This makes it way harder to change your shape and to stay consistent mentally.
SIGNS YOU ARE NOT EATING ENOUGH:
- You feel restricted and hungry during the week, so it becomes easy to overconsume on dinner dates, treats, or quick carbs around the house. You may even have a "sweet tooth" and cravings.
- Workouts aren't as powerful as they could be and despite lifting heavy you never seem to build much muscle.
- You hit platueas or feel like you gain weight back easily. Despite eating low calories you can't get leaner. Or, you "look a bread and gain body fat". (P.S. My ladies eat bread!)t bread!)

#2: UNDERSTANDING MACROS
Another next-level factor is understanding macros.
It is very difficult to see progress when you don't know how many calories or macros are needed or the science and strategy required to make progress.
Most will focus on "eating clean" or following a random set of macros. This doesn't take your shape to the next level because it doesn't consider the science behind building muscle and decreasing body fat.
For example, if you want to save $30,000, you would not vaguely "spend less". You would create a more fine-tuned plan like saving $3,000 a month for 10 months. The same applies with building your shape, you've just never been taught the formula or strategy when it comes to nutrition.
With good intentions, many try to be perfect with their nutrition. However, they don't understand what's most important to emphasize because again, we've never been taught. This leads to nutrition feeling really stressful and trying way harder perfecting each meal and hitting macros down to the gram.
SIGNS YOU AREN'T USING MACROS PROPERLY:
- Going back and forth being "really on it" sometimes, and then being "off".
- Feeling like you have to do a math problem to hit macros or find the perfect clean ingredients before eating.
- Swinging from "skinny" to "fluffy" without ever making true body composition changes.
- Confused on what to do next since what you've done over the past years isn't creating the shape you want.
- You're tracking macros but don't see measurable progress each week

THE SOLUTION
- Work smarter by understanding the strategy behind building muscle and decreasing body fat.
- Implement a scientific macro strategy instead of random efforts or "eating clean".
- Eat enough first, specific to the calories and macros you need to build your metabolism, muscle, and energy levels. (Most ladies who are lifting heavy will need 2,000+ calories!).
- Know the body recomp formula which tells you exactly how much progress to expect and what to emphasize each month.
- Lastly, become macro savvy, like how to estimate your macros on the fly, to be consistent no matter the day or social event.
This is a lot easier than you think! Everything you're doing know is harder than this. It's not rocket science, you've just never been taught nutrition at this level. You've also never eaten more in a strategic way. When done right you don't gain body fat, but instead improve your body composition each week! I see it every week in Create Your Shape!
